Show Notes

After doing everything right and living the way she was supposed to, Jai Essence found herself broke and broken trying to figure out how to make ends meet and have a happy life in the US. Jai taught for years in Houston, then Dubai, before arriving in Rwanda.

At age 40 she moved overseas determined to take the time to find herself, and discovered much more than that! Now the CEO of Jai Essence Enterprises, she is redefining all she knew, building businesses, empowering with truth and developing dreams every step of the way.

Transforming from someone who felt safest being small, to someone living her life to the absolute fullest, Jai is the epitome of the excellence that expats can bring out in themselves when they risk it all to follow their dream.

In this episode we discuss how Jai heard her whisper for the first time while on vacation ("you can do this,"), how she followed that call to adventure to Dubai, what her health challenges made her realize about expat community and why she and many black expats from around the world feel at home in Rwanda.
